What I do

I'm a semi lapsed ecologist who now dabbles in a combination of open science, open data, academic data science, and various open source projects. I work at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science at UC Berkeley and also lead the rOpenSci project. When not in transit, I like to run in the Berkeley hills, enjoy cooking, baking, sour beer, and good rye. I'm also obsessed with Field Notes ™ notebooks, Wes Anderson movies, and fine writing instruments.

I used to have an old Wordpress blog here which I finally gave up on. I posted a static copy of the site at old.inundata.org. I wrote a litle bit about my setup
